GDT 6/14/25: Braves vs Rockies - Get Strider a Win

Of course Verdugo gets on and then Ozuna/Baldwin tank the rally. Verdugo will be batting 2nd until profar gets back no matter what now.

GDT 6/14/25: Braves vs Rockies - Get Strider a Win

If you’re Olson and you know you can’t handle 98, wouldn’t you hunt breaking balls? Maybe not let the get-me-over breaking ball go on the first pitch? Then the BABIP gods smile on him haha.

GDT 6/14/25: Braves vs Rockies - Get Strider a Win

Once again the buffoon thinks Verdugo is a top of the order hitter while Baldwin and Ozuna aren’t. On the plus side, strider has gained some velocity. That might be the best news since Acuna hit a ball 115 with a new knee.

    GDT 6/13

Exactly. Now we get to watch a .312 OBP in the 2 hole for a month while Ozuna, Baldwin and Murphy all bat in the lower half of the order. This team has always had to overcome the headwind that is Snit’s tactical ineptitude, but now they might not be talented enough to pull it off.

    GDT 6/13

    I can’t believe my eyes!!

    GDT 6/13

Oh, he also has Ozuna’s .395 OBP in the 5 hole.

    GDT 6/13

Braves already down 2-0. And the man in charge of in game tactics for a MLB team has Verdugo batting #2 while Murphy bats #7. Apparently it’s sound strategy to hit a guy who has a .600 OPS #2 after temporarily losing his platoon job, while the guy with a .780 OPS bats 5 spots lower.

Braves visit the Brewers.... to make their Octoberfest plans

AA is in the classic GM position of the window closing, and once the window closes the GM usually takes the fall. GMs in those situations have nothing to lose by taking on large contracts in an effort to win as the window closes. If they lose, they are fired, and then it doesn't matter if they...

Braves visit the Brewers.... to make their Octoberfest plans

This is the correct answer. The window is closing fast, so taking on the risk of a large contract is acceptable now since it doesn't matter if Tucker is terribly overpaid during the rebuild. And if he ages well he might be valuable enough to flip during the rebuild. This is the offseason to...

Sale stops the bleeding GDT Braves vs Brewers

He's been great, and hasn't stolen a single base. How can that possibly be the case? How can a player possibly be impactful without trying to steal meaningless bases?

Sale stops the bleeding GDT Braves vs Brewers

Yeah, it was foolish to think a guy coming back from his 2nd major knee surgery might not be great when he wasn't great coming back from his first knee surgery. I'd be interested to see your Acuna projections where you had him at 1.000 OPS right out of the gate. Could you go ahead and link it...

GDT 6/8: Need A Win In A Giant Way

This is the last chance for a guaranteed PA for Baldwin. Snit let it go by.

GDT 6/8: Need A Win In A Giant Way

Strider can’t seem to get 95 by guys even when he gets it up in the zone.

    Snit watch is on.

My top choice for next Braves manager is Danny Lehmann, 39, begins his third season as the club’s bench coach and eighth season overall, having previously been the game planning and communications coach. That is exactly the type of talent the Braves need leading this team on the field.

GDT 6/7: Save Us, San Francisco

I long for the days this team was only 7 games under .500.

GDT 6/7: Save Us, San Francisco

In a 1 run game snit couldn’t manage to get Murphy a PA.

GDT 6/6: Sittin’ On The Dock Of The Bay……

Elder vs Webb may be the biggest mismatch of the season so far. Probably means the Braves win 8-6.

    State of the braves

Teams in their contention window do not deal away cy young caliber pitchers unless they run a $100M payroll like the rays. Even the rays likely wouldn’t trade away Sale if they were projected for ~90 wins. It simply doesn’t happen because it’s a terrible idea. The only reason it’s remotely...
