Let me help you out. The Braves would get a small short term benefit at a huge cost in the future. That is a very bad deal.

I would have been very disappointed if the Braves had given up both Ozuna and Murphy for a guy without a position and owed a lot of money. He’s good, but doesn’t really make the team better in the long run. So many needs to fill. Devers fills one, but ignores the rest and at a very high cost...

I think the Braves only wanted Devers if he was a bargain. He wasn’t, so they moved on.

Part of the discussion could mean anything from on the verge of a deal to they called AA to see if there was any interest. Every reporter has an agenda, I don’t have a lot of trust for what they say beyond reporting what actually happened after the fact. Even that is often suspect.

Following up 0-7 with 4-2 isn’t going to cut it. Need a winning streak or start trading.
