I haven’t seen any Heyward news but let me guess. He’s worked all winter to change X and he will be back to the player he was in Atlanta. This story has been recycled for a long time now.

I agree it’s a bad way to treat a player. But, from the Brewers perspective does it really matter. There is no way the Brewers have the money to match what he will earn as an FA. I’m sure if the Brewers offer him the biggest FA contract he will find some way to forgive them.

    Bally Sports Heading For Bankruptcy

I wonder if Liberty Media / Braves sees this as an opportunity? This could be a huge blow to teams that depend heavily on RSN revenue. A team getting shares of a bankrupt company instead of cash could be devastating. Next offseason will teams be offering cash and stock in RSN's to players?

I don’t think going to arbitration has anything to do with the possibility of him signing an extension. Fried is still definitely an extension candidate. The Braves will be able to match the market on AAV if they want to. Length of contract will be the problem. Fried will be going into his...

He could go to Mexico and play for the Charros. They signed Kenny Powers. So Bauer should fit right in. Maybe Bauer could get HBO to let him star in a remake of East Bound and Down.

Bauer is not worth the risk for any playoff caliber team to take on this year. He was absolutely the biggest douche bag in the MLB before his suspension. I sure he hasn’t improved. Don’t forget he only made a couple of starts after the sticky stuff ban. I believe he was one of the guys...

Mets fans have to be deflated by not getting Correa. Especially after all the hype about how much Cohen is willing to spend. Cohen went on a spending spree to basically keep last years team together. I wonder if the Correa saga caused the Mets to missed out on some second tier FA’s that...

The mostly likely outcome is a few of the extensions will be great deals, a few will be bad deals and and the rest will be average. That outcome should yield a team that can challenge for the division or wildcard the next 4 years. I donÂ’t see the Mets or Phillies getting far ahead of the...

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

The Mets have extended several of their players this offseason at the high market rates they helped to create.

The Giants didn’t DFA LaStella because of money. They let him go because they needed a roster spot. So in the Giants opinion, LaStella was the worst player on their roster. No thank you to that trade idea. The power upside of Ozuna makes him the better player IMO.

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

I think this is the plan. The cap number goes to 244 in 3 years at the end of the current CBA. My guess is the cap will increase to to over 250 in the next CBA. The Braves should see a TV revenue increase once their current deal is over in a few years. So its very possible we could see a...

Kind of makes sense now why the Astros weren’t especially motivated to extend Correa. Yes they had Pena in AAA. But, when you are a contender it’s hard to let a star leave and replace them with an unknown.

The Brewers have a lot of young players that could potentially improve over last year. If Yelich could bounce back to 80 - 90 percent of the player he was and Contreras can be the hitter he was last year with average defense, the Brewers could challenge to win the Central. It would have been...

Bauer has a 38,5 million player option or a 15 million dollar buy out. I’m predicting a 3 / 120 deal from the Mets.

Everyone will miss the Dansby that was a 6.4 fwar player in 2022. Nobody will miss the Dansby that put up 9.8 fwar over his first 5 seasons. I think it’s very likely Grissom / Arica will be equal to Dansby’s first 5 years. I wonder which Dansby the Cubs signed? My money is on Dansby...

I could see both having slight bounce backs. Rosario was injured most of last year. Being healthy should improve him slightly. Ozuna still hits the ball hard. His babip was around a career low last year. If he gets some babip luck he could easily bounce back to a league average hitter.

I think it’s a fair comparison to assume the yearly revenue for the Braves and Mets are similar. The Mets salaries and tax bill will be almost 500 million. The Braves total revenue for 2023 will be in the 525 to 550 million range. So the Mets will be spending 90 percent of their revenue...

Brantley seems to like playing in Houston. The best LH bat on the market is now Conforto. He probably just became too expensive. My wish list for the balance to the off-season. 1. Sign Conforto to a short term prove it deal 2. Cut Ozuna or trade in a bad contract swap 3. Offer...

Glad the Phillies made this deal. I don’t think this deal will age well. The FA salaries are insane so far.

I thought I read the 10 million that the Braves ate in the Odorizzi deal was booked in 2022. If this is thecase, then the Braves current payroll for 2023 would be in the 180 millions not in the 190 millions. I would also assume any buyouts that have happened were booked in 2022. I think the...
