It sucks to have missed out on JD but 100 million dollars for a 34 year old is a deal that could kill a contention window. I do like that AA has stuck with his strategy of short term AAV contracts that don’t mortgage the future for today. If AA was going to change his strategy i guessed it...

So what time is JD signing his contract today???

As a fellow Golden Eagle I hate to break it to you that I doubt they lock the gates. They are just happy someone wants to go in the stadium.

Theo has to get the moon for Byrant in a trade to make up for the questionable moves he has made to shorten the Cubs competitive window. Theo’s days as the smartest guy in baseball are coming to an end.

I don’t think the Nats signing a group of 2nd and 3rd tier free agents bumps them out of signing JD. Remember that outside of Turner the Nats infield is thin. Without JD they will be depending on Kieboom who is a unproven. Depending on Kieboom is like depending on AR.

Good grief people. I know yÂ’all love to hate him but pick something different than the physics of throwing a baseball to argue with cheff over. He has hundreds of years of the study of physics backing him up

Agreed. Perception is definitely on the batter not the pitcher.

The laws of physics affect every ball equally regardless of who throws it. Gravity is the same for an 8 year old as it is for an mlb ace. There are a lot of adjectives that describe pitches such as “late break” “rising fastball” that aren’t correct when you apply physics the analysis. I would...

Matt Adams is still available. AA could sign him to play first and then slide Freddie over to 3rd.

If you have an extra 20 million per year for the next three years this looks like a prime opportunity to fleece the Padres. I’m sure Peller is itching to make a dumb free agent signing and needs some cash. Taking Meyers would probably buy at least 2 of the Padres top 10. This feels like the...

If all of Ender's salary went to the Cubs then the net increase to add Bryant would only be in the 12 million range. The Braves would have a a little money to upgrade the Neck/Duvall tandem. All you need in the outfield is a place holder until Pache is ready. Pache is already a better...

I could live with that deal. The deal would Cubs enough MLB ready talent to keep their contention window open. The good thing is the Phillies don't have the talent available to trade to match that package. Maybe the Cubbies have been reading CLV's dissertations and believe with more AB's...

Corbin and Scherzer will be off the books before Soto is a free agent. I think the Gnats money crunch will be over the next 4 years. Soto will be expensive in arb. Turner will also be pricey.

What we don't know about the 7/200 offer to Rendon is how much the deal was back loaded. Wasn't around a third of the offer to Harper deferred?

Stras, Corbin and Scherzer won't have any surplus value in 3 years. The Nats are in win now mode.

If they don't have money for Rendon then they probably don't have money for Donaldson. Donaldson and Rendon will probably get close to the same money per year. The only difference will be 3 or 4 years versus 7 or 8 years.

If 7/220 is true the gnats will hate they had stupid money to spend in 2019. Edit: now the amount is 7/245.

Pollock can hit well enough and has enough power to pass as a cOF. If healthy Pollack should easily be a 2 WAR outfielder which would be an improvement over what Neck has been.

The same article also said Pollock may be available. I would interested in Pollock if his contract wasn't so backloaded. When healthy, Pollock still is a really good player. I would take the health gamble on Pollock and offer a couple of low end prospects to Dodgers for him with the Dodgers...
