    August 11th GDT

There are much more than 2, but I agree with your general premise. Snitker is terrible, but Washington was apparently their second choice, and he would be equally as bad as Snitker if not worse. I have zero confidence in our FO to make a good hire with their "Braves way" BS mantra. We had a...

GDT 8/9 The infield of the future on display....

Actually, we have the exact same view there, which is a portion of what I am talking about criticizing the process. The Albies move up isn't a major problem as long as he is going to be the starting 2B at the beginning of next season. The main issue I have with him is once again decisions seem...

GDT 8/9 The infield of the future on display....

Oh for sure, the Mariners are one of the worst in baseball, the Braves are nowhere close to them overall (or with any prospects really). But we are talking about the handling of hitting prospects here, not overall prospects.

GDT 8/9 The infield of the future on display....

What the heck do the results have to do with how they've handled the players? Not sure why it's hard for you to understand we are judging the process, not the performance. The performance has sucked too overall, but that's not really relevant to me.

GDT 8/9 The infield of the future on display....

She's talking about the Mariners because they absolutely suck when it comes to evaluating and handling their prospects. The same way this FO has been doing with our hitting prospects lately.

GDT 8/9 The infield of the future on display....

I'd say that was a good call by Enscheff. I'm not sure if it's sadder that we hired Snitker and plan on bringing him back next season, or that Washington was probably our second choice.

    Extent Freddie

If he can stay healthy (which has been iffy for him of course) I can easily see him hitting 35-40 HR a year for the next 4-5 years, it's just the 20something HR he'll likely hit from 35+ due to normal injuries and age related slowdown that make me think he doesn't have a shot at 500. That plus...

MONDAY MINORS FINAL 8/7 ... Nothing to see here

The truly scary thing is Carmago hasn't even been good defensively at SS, so even beyond him turning into a pumpkin offensively this move could blow up in our faces because of his defense at SS as well. Sure he has a cannon for an arm, but his range has been pretty poor at SS. He's been...

    Extent Freddie

I want to win ballgames, I give two craps about our players hitting milestones with us if they aren't any good. There is a reason the Yankees haven't done squat until this year for most of the past decade despite having one of baseball's highest payrolls, and that's because they were stupid and...

    Extent Freddie

Bringing up one terrible deal doesn't make doing so for Freddie less of a bad idea. I'm against long term deals for any player going into their 30s, they pretty much never work out for the teams that give them. I'm not against extending Freddie when his contract is either up or almost up, but...

    Extent Freddie

And if he falls off once he hits his early 30s like many players do then you are paying big money for nothing. Really zero reason to extend a player you already have under control for 4 more seasons.

SATURDAY MINORS FINAL 8/5 ... Rome earns 10th straight win

Too many people going off those initial reports of a sub-90 fastball I think. Gotta love that K rate and decent walk rate. Lots of promise there.

8/5: GDT Marlins marking glorious return of Encheff to even more glorious Chopcountry

Unfortunately. And Bobby would have had the kid pitching tonight. Fredi and Snit have all of Bobby's negatives with few of his positives.

Braves Call Up Max Fried, Board has Anuerysm

Umm, you quoted me when you made the post, that tends to mean you were responding to me with it. That's kinda how this internet thingie works.

Braves Call Up Max Fried, Board has Anuerysm

Good grief man, how many posts does it take before you realize that nobody in this freaking thread besides you is discussing the FO giving up on Fried as a starter. I certainly haven't made a single post in this thread saying I'm worried about him starting in the bullpen versus as a starter, yet...

Braves Call Up Max Fried, Board has Anuerysm

With Acuna I won't be happy if he starts the season next year in the majors, but in his case the kid is destroying the ball at all levels and there will be solid reasoning for doing so. Not being happy but being thrilled to watch him I think would be a good description for me as well.

Braves Call Up Max Fried, Board has Anuerysm

At the risk of going all Enscheff, feel free to give me some examples of when you were right in these thread with your trite reasoning. How is that Swanson promotion working? Or how about that Julio is too valuable to trade for someone like Benintendi and it's Moncada or bust thing working out...

Braves Call Up Max Fried, Board has Anuerysm

It's rather sad the poor reading comprehension going on in the thread, it's like people see something that they disagree with, and then make posts against a narrative people aren't really saying. People (outside of a couple posts in this thread) aren't complaining about Fried to the bullpen...
