Agreed. As currently constructed this team's biggest need is a competent middle infielder for the bench. We are an injury away from replacing Ozzie or Arcia with Grissom, Shewmake, or Culberson. None of those should be getting meaningful at-bats (or, in the case of Grissom, defensive innings)...

Doubtful. Let's see how this comparison looks when Freddie is 36 and 37. Freeman may indeed defy Mother Nature and perform up to the level he's being paid for well past his prime, but it's still not a smart bet to assume that will happen.

This is what needs to happen. He went down after struggling early in 2021 and came back a beast down the stretch. His bad start to that year was very similar in that his peripherals were way better than his actual results. At this point it's probably more in his head than anything else.
