I really have to disagree there. Allen is the best defensive SS in baseball by a pretty significant margin. Who out there is available that would be an upgrade?

This seems to me like it might be a bit more season management vs game management. Fairchild is gone when Acuna returns but Verdugo White and Possibly Harris are all competing for playing time when Acuna returns

I mean it's hard to give AA blame on anything here. The trade for Allen's been masterful. AJSS and Elder have shown up. Baldwin instead of TDA has really worked out. Taking some gambles and gathering more information has paid off so far

Wouldn't help DLS Eli or Allen any. They're under team control multiple years.

Dodd was also already on the 40 man. A DFA would be required to get Kimbrel on the roster.
