GDT 05/30/25 Red Sawx @ Bravos - Friday Night Shit Show

Is there a worse fastball hitting team in the league? Feels like these guys get beaten by 93 all the time

Braves should be up 3-0 at least. Giolito not fooling anyone…well, except for the guys batting with runners on base

GDT 5/29: Game One - AJSS and a Sunday Special !!!! Let’s Roll.

Ozzie is a stupid player doing stupid things. Other than that, that was a really good 9th inning that ended prematurely because of a terrible ump

GDT 5/27 Strider and the Backup Catcher: LFG Time

My point is this: they had an approach in 2023 that was effective but simplistic (look for fastball early in the count, annihilate it, Score early before the pitcher settles in). That stopped working in 2024 (or arguably the 2023 playoffs), as more and more teams caught on to what the Phillies...

GDT 5/27 Strider and the Backup Catcher: LFG Time

This offense continues to be a mystery. It feels like these hitters are constantly getting outsmarted, and are always one step behind the opposing pitcher. They are beaten by average fastballs that should be punished, which implies they are staying back for the offspeed stuff...but then they are...

GDT 5/27 Strider and the Backup Catcher: LFG Time

If Strider is still topping out at 96 in July, it may be time to get worried. But right now, he could still be shaking off the rust, or need some time to fully trust the elbow again.

GDT 5/27 Strider and the Backup Catcher: LFG Time

Strider does not look comfortable out there. Keeps blowing his hands, location is off.

GDT 05/25/25 Friars @ Braves A Schwell Of Two Cease-ons

Bowman's take on this is foolish. There are tough errors that are not the result of poor field conditions. Balls can take unpredictable bounces. I don't think Snitker was throwing anyone under the bus.

GDT 05/25/25 Friars @ Braves A Schwell Of Two Cease-ons

You‘re fooling yourselves if you think Snitker is getting fired. I truly believe the club thinks he deserves the Bobby Cox treatment. Best case is him announcing the retirement in the next couple of months, then getting a farewell tour the rest of the season. As I posted a few weeks ago: I...

Machado is top-5 most annoying players. Another 0-2 mistake

GDT 05/25/25 Friars @ Braves A Schwell Of Two Cease-ons

Schwellenbach is good and all, but he’s really annoying with the amount of hard hits he gives up with 2 strikes. Too many pitches end up in the hitter’s happy zone. For s guy that doesn’t walk many batters, his control really isn’t that great

GDT 5/24/25: Braves vs. Padres - Drake in the 2 hole

I‘m afraid Ozzie is done as an offensive contributor. You see it not so much in the poor ABs where he gets himself out (he‘s always been prone to that), but in the ABs when he actually gets a pitch to hit and puts good wood on it…and the ball still goes nowhere. He‘s never been a big EV hitter...

GDT 5/24/25: Braves vs. Padres - Drake in the 2 hole

That was actually a really good offensive showing against a quality opponent. Balanced attack, a couple of homers, but also other key hits. Constant pressure, not relying on one big inning. Some BABIP luck, but also some bullets for outs. Really should have had more than 7 runs.

GDT 5/23/25: Braves vs Padres - The Return of Acuna

This. He saw the ball off the bat and had to know there‘s no chance in hell he has enough time to get back to 2B. Hard to blame anyone, really. Certainly not the coach, but also not Eli. It’s not like he wasn’t hustling, or ignored the coach. Just an honest, human mistake. Everyone gets a brain...
