On the surface, Murphy and Baldwin is the correct choice given Ozuna's bum hip. But like, couldn't you just have waited 2.5 weeks instead of completely tanking whatever trade value Ozuna had.

Teams buying at the deadline do so with knowledge that they have to sacrifice future help for help this year. I mean we see big names get exchanged every year for big prospects. Why would us trading Murphy be any different?

Eh, the power and defense combination still plays up well at SS. He could be an Oneil Cruz type of player.

Every team wants to keep every prospect. That's why they drafted/signed them. If those prospects aren't on the MLB squad currently, or if they were just promoted, they aren't essential players to their 2025 success.

1. This was a deep SS class. 2. He has swing and miss issues and he's guy that wasn't projected to be a day 1 pick coming into this season. The point remains, if you believe he has above average power and the defense is good at SS, that isn't a likely utility player.

A player with above average power who is also a very good defender at SS does not profile as a likely utility player. That is insane that I have to write that. Who knows if he works out. But labeling him as a likely utility player is extremely lazy analysis. Swanson is exactly that sort of...
