As good as Hanson was early, we didn’t ever get to see him at his peak. He was throwing even harder in the minors. The velo started to dip as he was debuting. He was absolutely filthy.

Elder is fine as a 6th or 7th starter. He’s not fine if he’s the guy you pencil going into your rotation. He’s also not fine if he’s your #7 starter who is likely to be your # 3 starter at some point during the year.

Strider hitting 93 with the fastball. This is very depressing stuff. I’d like for him to become maybe a 5 and dive pitcher who can maybe air it out for 75 pitches with elite results than a guy trying to throw 100 pitches with average stuff.
