Braves SS Ozhaino Albies, Class A Rome: 3-for-5, 2 R -- There might not be a hotter hitter in the Minor Leagues over the last 10 days than Albies. Tuesday's three-hit effort marked the fourth time since May 30 that the 18-year-old racked up three or more hits. In his last 10 games, Albies is batting .500 with nine runs scored, and he currently ranks fourth in the South Atlantic League with a .323 batting average to go with 21 stolen bases and a league-best 43 runs scored.

For what it's worth, note that the Angels called up Kyle Kubitza today. He might be up a while.

Dustin Peterson is 2 for 4 with a double and 3 rbi's tonight.

Kid has a chance to be something special for us!

Quietly Connor LIen is having a solid season as a 21 year old in A+.

The bb/k ratio is awful but wasn't this kid billed as a high ceiling toolsy guy?

Padres got alot wrong this offseason.

Yea, they made a lot of moves and got a lot of off-season press but it still seems they're not a playoff team. I had that take before the season and nothing so far I've seen from them has changed it. And to me that is a waste because they gave up a lot of solid prospects in their off-season deals. Maybe they can get a good return on Justin at the deadline though. It will be interesting to see if they try or just keep him.

This was a scouts take on Peterson when he was drafted.

Dustin Peterson, Arizona prep SS, drafted 50th

• "Very hitterish. Some power to come. Poor high school defender."

• "He can flat-out hit like his brother (D.J. Peterson, drafted 12th by the Mariners). Potential Jeff Kent-type player."

• "Good offense. Good demeanor. Speed and defense are OK. Plays short now, but may not have the range or arm to stay there. Not fast enough for the outfield. May be a third baseman, but it's more likely he's a second baseman in the future. A good comp is Gordon Beckham of the White Sox.

I took my son to Asheville (just an hour from home) to watch the Rome AVL game. Y'all had mentioned how short of stature Albies is. Is he ever!

Defense has always been the biggest concern on him from what I've read. He's probably a LF only guy at the MLB level, so he really needs to hit to be anything more than a part time player. Let's hope he can keep up the current pace and he's got a real shot!
