Already out, September schedule looks to be a beast.

Ending with the Nats/Astros is ****ty.

Being done with Arizona and San Diego within the first 2 weeks of the season is strange...\

Then ending the season at home vs Washington and Houston is going to be sick

I think it's because we're also playing the AL West next year so travel logistics are that way.

Normally MLB tries to schedule west coast trips for East Coast teams to be grouped up to make traveling easier. They're usually at the start of a road trip, ending with a road series either back in the Central or East before a homestand.

This year we're playing the AL Central + 1 AL East team (blue jays). For years we'd always play a home and away split series with what was considered our natural rival. For years it was Boston, then when we sucked and Philly was good, MLB considered Philly and Boston to be a natural rivalry. But now that we're good again and Phillies blow, looks like BOS is going to be our home and away 2 and 2 split series.

Before when it was 14-16 in AL-NL the 2 and 2 series would be the same way, Monday-Tuesday at home then Wednesday-Thursday away. But seems since we switched to the 15-15 leagues that you do 2 early in the season then 2 away later on.

The old way of interleague was much simpler. 2002 we went to mostly AL Central (but had a weird series with Texas + Boston). 2003 we went to AL West in Oakland and Seattle. And before the 15-15 split, interleague was a 2-week long thing.

Thankfully the Braves come here in July next year and not April. April baseball in Denver is a dicey proposition.

Thankfully the Rangers new stadium next year will have a retractable roof. Seeing the Braves at the end of June would of been hot as **** otherwise.

Y’all remember when we closed with the Astros two years in a row in ‘06-07?

I do remember the 2007 one.

Simply because it was the last ever Braves on TBS broadcast. Skip was very emotional even for his standards.

I think it was also Biggio's last ever series/game and he played a little catcher.

In ‘06 we knocked the Astros out of the playoffs. They finished 1 game back of the Cardinals.

Also, I didn’t realize our Pythag that year had us at 85 wins.

Huh. Apparently I don't hate you now, I'm just going senile. I could've sworn they knocked us out in the NLDS two years in a row, and it was that to which you were referring.

2004 and 2005.

2004 was Beltran destruction.

2005 was Kyle Farnsworthed after LaRoche grand slam, then 18 innings of misery. Joey Devine. Smoltz's shoulder was purple and unlikely he would have pitched Game 5.

just realized we will have a few games against LAA here at Suntrust....

will be fun to see the American Trout vs the Venezuelan Trout

What if Trout pulls an Erstad and levels McCann/Jackson at the plate. Then we have to call up Lango to replace McCann like Mac replaced Estrada.

you mean American Acuña vs Venezuelan Acuña?

Always thought it was American Acuña and Venezuelan Trout.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs. The Atlanta Braves of Smyrna.

I can't wait for that Gamethread Info in the first post.
