I did not ever feel like he would morph into an exclusive defensive specialist / defensive Merchant at shortstop, but here we are I spose
 
Considering he was always racking up K's, it was inevitable he'd be all glove. Which is fine but not worth the money he would be on the team.

With dansby, I guess his penchant for clutch hitting, definitely colored my surprise in how his career ended out.

And with regards to riley, I think you're right, he's a veritable white hole on the payroll😔
 
Elder is prone to go On long stretches of really good performance. Usually there are some absolute dud performances or runs to bring that back to earth.
