4/25 GDT vs Red Sox: LOL Freddy

#Braves lineup: Markakis 9, Castro 6, Garcia 5, Pierzynski 2, Francoeur 7. Freeman 3, Peterson 4, Smith 8, Teheran

Freeman 6th? Sheesh

It'd be one thing if this was the Cubs lineup... but he's seriously batting AJP and Francour ahead of Freddie Freeman

"You see, they always told me, that sometimes, your best hitter doesn't always have to bat in the top 3 spots, so I'd thought I'd try it. Bobby was masterful at this, he always took a struggling hitter and put him in the 2 spot, to get some fastballs and stuff to get going. Freddie always hit 3rd, it's not going to do anything to move him up a spot or down a spot, we needed to do more, we will see what happens."

Jeez, that's just silly.

We'll probably score 12 and get Freddie hitting sixth for the rest of the week.

I don't care if he is struggling or not, Freeman is still the biggest threat in this offense. That is absurd.

Not so much about the fact he's struggling IMO. Was just talking with someone yesterday about the WAY he's struggling - not only does he look completely lost at the plate (and hasn't come close to catching up with any fastball over 92 MPH) right now, he literally just looks like he's "going through the motions" because the team's so bad. The only player in the lineup tonight with a lower batting average is Mallex.

Moving him down is more than likely just a stunt to try to get his attention, but I find it funny that lots of people want Fredi held accountable (and fired) for his actions yet they also want him to leave one of our worst hitters at the moment in a run-producing spot when we're getting plenty of hits but not scoring runs. Freeman's OPS+ currently stands at 56 (!) and he's slugging .258. Which of those numbers are you going to point to that screams he's NOT a huge part of the reason the team's not scoring runs?

Can't have it both ways folks - if you want everyone to be accountable, Freeman's part of everyone and he's REALLY bad right now.

Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff? FYI, the team ranks #29 in hits, so they are most definitely NOT getting plenty of hits.

Freddie has been dreadful this season. Without looking it up I am guessing he's near the bottom in most offensive categories for regular hitters batting third.
