Not so much about the fact he's struggling IMO. Was just talking with someone yesterday about the WAY he's struggling - not only does he look completely lost at the plate (and hasn't come close to catching up with any fastball over 92 MPH) right now, he literally just looks like he's "going through the motions" because the team's so bad. The only player in the lineup tonight with a lower batting average is Mallex.
Moving him down is more than likely just a stunt to try to get his attention, but I find it funny that lots of people want Fredi held accountable (and fired) for his actions yet they also want him to leave one of our worst hitters at the moment in a run-producing spot when we're getting plenty of hits but not scoring runs. Freeman's OPS+ currently stands at 56 (!) and he's slugging .258. Which of those numbers are you going to point to that screams he's NOT a huge part of the reason the team's not scoring runs?
Can't have it both ways folks - if you want everyone to be accountable, Freeman's part of everyone and he's REALLY bad right now.
