MOVES: Wang goes onto Gwinnett DL to make room for Texeira.
Free agent pitcher Mike Nesseth assigned to Carolina; released by Phillies on May 14th.
He's right, 6-5, 210, looks like he should be a beast; Nebraska Cornhusker.

Davidson with 3 hits, Curcio with 2, and 6 strong IP from Hursh - wonder if he's feeling the heat about being moved to the pen?

Hursh with a solid game tonight, Kennelly caught him this time and it made a difference as I expected. O'Dowd had been catching him a lot and he's simply a bad catcher, but O'Dowd can hit and has some speed.

BTW, Rio Ruiz continues to struggle, he hasn't had a hit in 8 or so games now. He was 0-3 with a strikeout tonight and is now hitting .168 on the season.

Curio might be a fast mover. All of a sudden we have a bunch of positional prospects. A lot of that has to do with Wrens tenure so I have to acknowledge that.

Hursh postgame quote:

"It was definitely the best I've felt all year," said Hursh, who threw 48 of 83 pitches for strikes and induced 10 ground-ball outs. "I commanded my fastball the way that I wanted to. I haven't been able to do that effectively this year, so I just focused on my fastball command and kept the ball down. I threw a lot of sinkers and pounded the zone to get ground balls."
