Concepcion, Pache, and Cruz all with hits thus far today for the GCL group. I'm thinking Concepcion could be moved up quickly given he's already 21. Of course, they will want to allow water to find its own level in Danville before anything shakes.

looked like an exciting game.. Pache/Cruz/Concepcion are putting up the numbers..I remember Pache and Cruz.. when did we get Concepcion?

Good starts for Derian Cruz and Cristian Pache through the first three games of the GCL.

Cruz: 5-15, 1 2B. 0 BB/3 K. 3 SB/1 CS.

Pache: 6-13, 1 2B, 1 3B. 0 BB/0 K.

Signed between 2014 and 2015. I don't remember reading about him until the beginning of the 2015 DSL season. He's a little older than most of the other prospects he played with in the DSL last season. Great numbers in the DSL a year ago. Plays LF and 1B. It seems to me he was signed as a C.

thanks... ha.. didn't even notice Beckham was in the box score. I was admiring Pache, Cruz and Concepcion too much..

Concepcion is hitting .700!

Newk with a good start, again.

His ERA has remained right around 4 over his last 5 starts, but over that span, in 26.2 IP (granted, not going real deep in games) he has K'd 28 and BB'd 8. Definitely good progress to see him maintain the K rate while bringing the BB rate down. Now he needs to continue that while becoming a little more efficient, hopefully by giving up fewer hits.

ETA: Sorry, I wasn't counting tonight's start in that. It's actually 32.2 IP, 34 K/10 BB in his last 6 starts. Really good stuff.

Couple good games in a row for Davidson. That's back-to-back games with a homer, right?

2 in his last 4, but it's been a pretty steady climb for him. He now has his highest BA, OBP, and SLG of the season.

.192/.261/.308 in April; .241/.340/.316 in May; .273/.406/.494 in June. Pretty exciting to see his power surge, especially, this month. 10 XBH after just 11 in the first 2 months combined. The K rate is still too high but is a season-low 28% in June after a 35% May. BB rate also a season-high 17% in June.

Just turned 20 and at this rate will probably be promoted again to AA next year at age 20-21. We overlook him too much, he is still very much a potential future big-time prospect. Still has plenty of time.

Good on Minter turning in the ol -0 ER stat. Get him to Atl!

In all seriousness that's an arm we couldn't evaluate last year that should probably
Leap up our own prospect lists. Probably in the majors next year in a fairly involved role by years end.

FWIW, he's been solidly inside my Top 20 since we drafted him, but has certainly climbed recently.

The ideal version of Davidson is someone who addresses a lot of concerns for us. If he can join the plate discipline with some power and make a bit more contact, he's the sort of position player prospect we've generally been thought to lack. He could take over for Markakis in a couple years.

Long way to go for any of that to happen, of course.

His skill set reminds me of Conforto.... just not as fast.

When Rico creates a minor league thread, we can put this in there .. but just giving everyone a heads up that Muller is making the start for GCL today.. lets see if Concepcion can improve the .700 BA... lol..

I would guess he's a LF down the line.
