Looking at the Dominican Summer League roster, one can postulate that Pache and Cruz will both be in the Gulf Coast League. The other highly-regarded Latin signing from 2015 (Juan Morales) will be the everyday SS in the DSL.

Carolina getting bounced around this morning, but Joseph Odom is on a tear. 3/5 with 2 HRs last night and 2/2 with a 2B so far today.
 
Quick question: Isn't it rushing Allard a bit to start him at low-A? I thought he'd be at Danville this year.

so did I, I guess they wanted to send him out there and see how he did. i reckon after 4 or 5 more starts they will see if he's ready or needs to drop down. (I would prefer if they let guys dominate the lower level, then move them up so they have confidence myself)

Allard is in Low A and talented enough to be there. At this point you look for health, results be d@$&ed. He was throwing 91-93, hammer curve and thus far no issues with his back. Carolina is Hi-A. He will be in Rome all year. Good spot IMHO.
 
Swanson isn't in the lineup for the second straight day. I hope it isn't serious whatever the problem is.

No problem. They won't all harness it, but I'd much rather have a bunch of high upside guys than a bunch of guys that are consistently "good" in the minors, but aren't likely to ever dominate major league hitters. A few need to pan out. When it comes to prospects, swing for the fences. Such a small percentage of minor league players ever make it. You need a dozen or so great ones once they get to the bigs, while hundreds won't make it at all.
 
Paul Snyder used to say that you have to have 10 pitching prospects to have one that develops for the major leagues.

Thereby highlighting the gap between guys like Soroka and Wisler who display both stuff and command at an early age and the others who are much riskier.
