A Young Maddux

It's amazing how his mechanics got smoother and slower as he developed and got older.

His delivery here looks nothing like when he pitched for us. He looks really loose in this video, not the slow and deliberate mechanics I'm used to seeing.
 
Only watched the first minute, but recognized Rafael Palmeiro's name (!) in lineup and remembered Hector Villenueva.
 
I wonder if anyone in that crowd was thinking that one year that pitcher on that mound would only walk 14 batters unintentionally in 236 IP.
 
You can definitely tell the difference in his delivery on his follow through. In this video he falls off the left after he pitches which is very unMaddux-esque. The Maddux I remember always finished his delivery with his feet set and ready to field the ball.
