Let's chaulk this up as a 2 alarm day. I agree with Trump twice.
First was his tapped phone and secondly Afghanistan

I opposed in 2002 and still do going into Afghanistan . Thought it a knee jerk reaction that was totally uncalled for and historically impossible.
It is startling to think they only invading army's to conquer Afghanistan were Ghengis Kahn. That was the 14th century. What made our policy makers (another President that won by Electoral College/Supreme Court decree) think they knew something histroy didn't.

Back to Trump - we are losing we have been losing and we will continue to lose.
this article from Atlantic. Another good read is yesterdays NBC report on the meetings Trump amd military advisers

If it was a real war where we were actually defending ourselves we could wipe Afghanistan off the map in a month. If we approached ww2 like we did this war Hitler would have died on old age before we got to Berlin.

When service people die in combat it is a real war.

Which defines both the threat and luxury of drone warfare.

The threat being we are at war without American body bags thus making war easy to ignore
The luxury ? No American body bags

So is it a real war because service people die there or is it an easy war to ignore because no American body bags?

Come on Sturg, you know better, remember how they told us the Republican base would never get behind such an extreme candidate like Ron Paul if he won the nomination. Funny thing is when I visit Trump land they constantly say how much they love and respect Ron Paul even when he is talking **** about Trump. In fact there are only 2 politicians I know of that have crossed Trump without drawing the wrath of Trump or his followers are Ron and Rand Paul.
