Andrelton Simmons wins first Gold Glove!

obviously well-deserved and the correct choice.

also won fielding bible award for best SS.

Its either a prediction or he knows someone that works for ESPN or Rawlings because it is not announced until 8pm tonight.

He did win The 2013 Fielding Bible Award for SS though and that is for all of MLB not just the NL

Hasnt happened yet, but if he wins it, no surprise.

Pretty much can name the GG the Simmons GG for the next 5 years, at least.

arb price just went up....

He's going to win this every year if he's healthy and doesn't piss off any writers. He's good and he has the saber guys and the old school guys loving him.

Seems rather appropriate to show this image tonight:

He's not arb-eligible until 2016.

It will cost alot regardless.

And to think some GM's wanted this guy as a pitcher. What a steal this guy was. He's just so exciting to watch and the best part is the guy is only going to get better. I'm surprised he had as much power at the plate as he did.

I'd rather he cut down his power actually, take what he's given and collect more hits. He swung for the fences way too much.

He is a defensive wizard, and once he learns that he doesn't have to swing out of his shoes, his bat is going to take off, too. Hope he's here for a long time.

Honestly I don't really care what he does with the bat he's so great defensively that if he hits .250 20 HR's and an OBP of .325-.350 I'm more than fine with whatever he wants to do. He's a gamer and if Uggla and BJ weren't such garbage at the plate he would be hitting 8th anyway which are numbers I would take all day every day from an 8th place hitter in the NL. He's pretty clutch as well and seems to come through when you need a big hit.

I don't see him ever taking enough walks to have that high an OBP with a .250 avg. I would take that line as well, but he has the talent to hit .280+ with 10+ homers.

Yeah, he did hit .300+ in Lynchburg with only 1 HR so I'm sure he could hit .280 and might eventually have a year like that but he showed some real good signs in the second half posting an OPS close to .800 which with his defense would make him elite. Offensively he's looking like JJ Hardy which isn't the worst thing in the world.
