PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Austin Riley (Gwinnett): After missing most of June and a homerless (19 games played) JUly, Riley slugs eight homers in August and drives in 22 runs. One downside: despite hitting .300, Riley struck out 38 times in 28 games.
PITCHER OF THE MONTH: Touki Toussaint (Gwinnett): Winning debut in ATL aside, made four starts, good for 3-0 record for the month with a 1.08 ERA. He allowed 18 hits in 25 innings, striking out 32 and walking seven.
Honorable mention: Kyle Muller (4-1, 3.10, in 5 starts, 29 IP, 27 K, 22 hits allowed in AA debut).
