Bart DFA'ed

The Braves FO has not done the best job filling rotation holes considering the resources they have spent on pitching. They also traded away Wood, who is providing more value this year than the entire Braves rotation combined.

Let's hope they improve their pitcher evaluation skills before selling the farm to acquire an Ace.

I know we were hopping to have a piece to flip in ole Bart, but he fell apart. Time to move on

I don't think it took too long. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. Put him on the DL and gave him one more chance. He's had very recent success so there was hope he'd turn it back around. He couldn't. Oh well.

Replacing him on the roster will be interesting. While Cabrera hasn't been quite good enough to be the obvious choice, I wonder if they've seen enough of Winkler to activate him? He still needs a good bit more time on the roster so we finally control his rights.

Of course, there may be no move forthcoming until Freddie's activated. As someone mentioned earlier, the pen seems to be fine for the time being. Maybe just keep everyone where they are for several days so Winkler can make a couple more appearances at Gwinnett, then send Jace back down to make room for him when Freeman's added.

Um, there is zero chance the Braves go even 1 game with only 24 men on the roster.

That has to be the dumbest thing you've ever suggested...which is really saying something.

A corresponding move has already been made. Rex Bothers is up from G-Braves. Interesting but nothing to get too excited for.. I don't think at least.

With the relief market, he's just another reclamation project they are probably trying to feature and turn into something at the trade deadline

But wait, clv said the Braves might go with a 24 man roster.

He writes/edits for a Braves blog, how could he be so wrong about everything related to the Braves?

Not such a bad thing to have a third lefty out there as our 8th RP.

Only slightly related to the move, but I have to admit I've been pretty impressed with what we've seen out of Sam Freeman - like his stuff.

Brothers is a little more than a reclamation project. Supplemental first round pick in 2009, lefty in upper 90s. In 2013, was 2-1, 1.74 with 19 saves in 72 games IN COLORADO. Has come back from non-surgical shoulder problem.

Well considered we signed him to a minor league contract... come on man.
