I actually wondered what the Twins were going to do with Santana. He had become a 5th wheel. He was golden in 2014 and looked like he was going to be somebody, but he's come crashing back to Earth. Kind of a RHH version of Jace Peterson with maybe a bit more power. Still only 26. He is case in point of a number of Latin American players for whom the statement "You can't walk off the island" is absolutely true.
 
I watched him a bit up here in Minnesota. Toolsy, but I always thought one of the mysteries about him is that the stats for his rookie year in the major leagues were considerably better than what he had accomplished in the minors. He basically skipped AAA because the Twins called him up early in 2014. It's too bad he hasn't played more 3B.
 
I don't mind this move in a vacuum, but was more expecting a pure DH type to be given a shot during this stretch that involves AL parks. I'm guessing the press release will tout his "experience" in the AL as a factor.

Happens sometimes. Usually not real. In his case, the .400 plus BABIP was a hint.

Did he get a bobble head night in 2015. Maybe it was too much pressure.

guys like Doumit and Norton are what we need on the bench though the particular results with those two were bad
 
We're getting pretty good circumstantial evidence that Bonifacio now has custody of the photo file.
