Guessing the deal isn't all the big. If not, I really like the move. Solid buy-low guy, will provide depth at two spots where we need it. Solid guy to have.

Decent-ish pop, no speed, poor defense. Worth one win below replacement.

Is versatile, maybe cheap?

...last year.
He's been a positive player in recent history, and pretty damn good in 2011 and 2012.

No sweat Hawk, deserves it's own thread now that I think of it.

Buys time for Peraza if he needs it. Could also slide over to take over at 3B in the event Johnson is packaged with Upton as was rumored last night.

He can't play SS, but he's a much better offensive player than Pena. Curious to see the contract. As per usual, I'm worried more about years than AAV.

Decent is the operative word here ... especially as a utility bench bat ... but, as with everything, let's see if he gets $4MM+ a year before we proclaim this a win.

Honestly, Simba is so good, 2B and 3B depth is far more important to have than a guy like Pena just because he can play SS.
Further: He walks about as much as he strikes out.

Like w/ Toscano, the #Braves still have some things to iron out w/ Callaspo. But they seem to be close w/ both players.

Well of course, but I doubt he got that, and I doubt this is for much more than 2 years.
I think he will start at 2B until Peraza comes up.
