I was still in Seattle when Sheffield had his good Covid year and looked like Dipoto had fleeced the Yankees, but his relationship with home plate always felt a little tenuous. His line this year is way beyond ordinary control problems, though. He's gotta be hurt.

This would have been a big deal five years ago, in no small part because Sheffield was still under contract with the Yankees and it would have been a huge scandal for the Braves to sign him in spite of that.
