Braves sniffing around on Yelich, Realmuto

Would be fascinating to see what kind of packages they are talking about for those two. It would absolutely crush our farm system, but we’d be set everywhere but 3B for the next few years.

It would definitely crush our farm system. But it would make our MLB team legit for the next 5 years at a very cheap dollar price. You would have the money to sign Donaldson for 3b. I’m pretty intrigued by Contreras so I’d like to see what he’s got and just go after Yelich.

Time for us to try and upsell all the pitching we've gotten and convince Marlins to bite.

Only untouchables for me are Albies, Acuna, and Inciarte. Those three can help win now. Freeman too I suppose. But Dansby, and others, I'm cool with unloading them.

I'd rather just go after Yelich but it would hurt the farm system a ton but also make the ML team very good if they get the SP figured out.

No way we get those two in a deal without it being headlined by either Albies/Acuna. Would love for it to happen but the cost will be too much to bear.

This was also in the piece...

The Braves also are interested in signing a free-agent starting pitcher, one source said this week. For now, the Braves have only three starters locked into rotation spots for 2018: Teheran, Mike Foltynewicz and the newly acquired Brandon McCarthy.

Since the Braves aren't close to Major League Baseball's competitive balance tax threshold, Anthopoulos has the freedom to backload multiyear contracts without major financial repercussions. With many starting pitchers still unsigned -- Yu Darvish, Jake Arrieta, Alex Cobb and Lance Lynn, among others -- one could fall into the Braves' price range.

We don't have to get both, but I think we still have a lot ot offer for Yellich straight up without having to give Albies or Acuna. Maybe they'd want Inciarte.

Disagree

We have the system we can get them. Not sure if we want to sell the farm but we could do it.

Things change if we take on money

Things change if Yelich and or Realmuto force a trade

Things change based on what other people offer

But I think we can do wright allard pache Riley and another pitcher.

I think the most interesting part of the article was we are still looking for another starter to go along with Teheran folty and McCarthy ...stating Darvish Arrieta Cobb Lynn could fall to a price point we could sign them at

Agreed that we wouldn't need to include either if its just 1.

My preference would be to wait till the deadline to make a trade but I'm not going to be mad if we got Yelich. Just think about if we traded Gohara last offseason. His value skyrocketed in one year. These are the following players that I think can take a MASSIVE step forward and have their values significantly increase:

Newk
Anderson
Tarnok
Soroka
Pache

Let's see how good we drafted and scouted.

I do not want to trade Pache right now. If that kid hits even a little his defense will make him a 4 WAR player.

That means that Folty or Newk are being shopped.

Where is Pache playing if you get Yelich? Acuna, Yelich, Ender would be the outfield for the next 5 years.

Pache will take Enders place in 2 years. Ender is destined to be traded if Yelich is acquired IMO.

Braves absolutely love Pache. Lots of scouts think he can become a superstar type player.

Wonder how much AA likes Dansby and if he could possibly be in this deal.

Im just spit-balling here.

Newk, Flowers, Markakis, Allard, Dansby, Soroka, and cash for Realmuto/Yelich.

Still would keep Wentz, Gohara, Anderson and Kyle Wright in said scenario.

Arrieta already has a 4/110 offer from the Cubs. Darvish will get more than that.

There is no way the Braves can afford either.

Whoever wrote that article is pretty clueless.
