has Kade Scivicque jumped to the front of the Braves catching prospect? It appears so.
I really think Demeritte is our 2b of he future. He could hit 15-20 more homers than Albies. Hard to make up that kind of value.
Honestly, I imagine we are pursuing this kind of deal because Demeritte makes Albies more expendable in our minds.
I keep going back and forth on this. I'm a big Albies fan and have had him written in pen as our second baseman for a while now.
It's really fun to dream on Demeritte, but I just can't get past the fact that he struck out over 30% of the time last year and all of that came below Double A. That percentage did go down in a small sample in the AFL (25 Ks in 107 ABs). I'm just not sure I would be alright giving up a player like Albies and putting so much on Demeritte with that kind of strikeout rate in the lower levels of the minor leagues. I wish Demeritte's perceived value was as high as Ozzie's and we could just trade him instead, but I doubt teams view Demeritte as close to Albies.

I think we need to be looking at Demeritte at 3B and Albies at 2b
