Chacin About to be Traded to Angels

Perez is not an improvement, I wonder what we are to get. But really a minor league player not considered a prospect? Seems a bit weak

Given Chacin's contract and performance thus far, I find it hard to believe all we will receive is AAA filler, especially when it's nowhere close to deadline.

Do they have any picks to trade? Cause that would make more sense.

Do we demote Mallex to AAA to make room for Trout, or should we move Ender to right and make Markakis an overpaid fourth outfielder?

Move Nick the Stick to 1b and turn Freddie into the pitcher everyone thought he'd be out of high school.

Agreed. We should not expect a Top 100 type prospect for four months of Chacin. But I would like to see someone within the Angels top 10 and I don't think that this is unrealistic. Also wouldn't mind getting Kyle Kubitza back.

I understand LA has a terrible farm, but a top 10 guys for 4 months of a guy we got off the scrap heap?

I have a feeling the team was never really sold on Chacin. I think there's a good chance he would have been DFA'd with another bad start or two.

I think I would target a live arm bullpen prospect. Someone of Krol's caliber.

Chacin has been pitching well and has pitched well in the not so distant past. He is a successful reclamation projection. McCreery is an inadequate return imo.

We got him for nothing, he has a 5.40 ERA (I know, i know, that doesn't matter, but it does), and he's a 4-month rental. the guy didn't have a job when we got him.

I love this trade. We turned a guy we signed off the scrap heap who we were probably going to DFA before long to make room for Jenkins or Sims into a 6 foot 8 lefty relief prospect with big K numbers.

If you picked up a rolex watch off the ground, would you give it up for nothing? Not saying that this is what Chacin is. But my point is his value is independent of how we found him or the state he was in when we found him.
