Chip Caray to St Louis Broadcasts

Isn't Powell like semi-retired? Ben would be the obvious choice. This is a shocker.

Not really.

He was born in St. Louis when Skip was doing St. Louis Hawks broadcasts. His grandpa did STL broadcasts for years before moving to the Cubs.

He worked for his father's baseball team, and also for his grandfather's other baseball team previously. Now he wants to finish the circle.

I would be fine with one of the radio guys, but I’d also love to go steal a good one from another team. Brian Anderson with Milwaukee comes to mind.

I also don’t know who has the final say in the hire. Is it Bally Sports SE leadership? I would assume the Braves don’t have much of a say in this, but I’m not sure how this works.

Thought about that too. But completing the cycle would mean a stint with the White Sox after the Cards.

This is the biggest move of the off-season.

The best play by play man currently employed by the Braves is Ben Ingram, and it’s not particularly close. Move him over.

Thank goodness.
Would love to have Boog back from ESPN but I’m sure he’s making good money and wouldn’t leave.

Random thought I had - Tom Hart is doing really well with the SEC Network now. He had at least a few seasons in a lesser role with Braves broadcasts. I wouldn’t mind that.

To me, Ingram has a voice meant for radio, not for TV.

His monotone voice reminds me a bit of Pete Van Weiren. But I loved Pete on TV so I can't complain.
