Cole Hamels out two months....

Wisler is trash and has always been trash. Profar was once a top prospect and is still young.

profar has the pedigree but he's been terrible and he doesn't have a ton of control left.

They had him in a platoon at 3B. Give them Garcia for that platoon bat and Dickey or Colon and we'll pay the guy's way.

Wisler is still young also and was once a top 50 prospect. Wisler has at least shown glimpses of success. Profar has not.

Your term for "glimpses of success" must be an awfully small sample size for Wisler - he might have strung together 3 quality starts at some point.

If you're willing to use really small sample sizes like that, Profar strung together a .295/.351/.428 first half with 4 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 5 HRs, and 15 RBIs last season (173 ABs).

Has to be at least as successful as Wisler's been at any point up to now. If the Rangers want Wisler for Profar, sign me up!!!

Wisler, Blair, Vizcaino, and Ruiz for Gallo and Profar???

:eusa_dance::panic::eusa_dance:

LOL

i get it. Let's make murph trades.

But Profar might be able to be had on the cheap. IIRC he only has like 2 more years of control after this one because he's spent so much time on the ML DL. I rather have him get a shot at 3B than Garcia. But nobody should give up a good piece for him.

He's the type of guy we should take a chance on at a reasonable cost. Give them Blair and Wisler and filler...they need pitching. All involved need a change of scenery.

JMO, but he's probably a lot like Wisler and Blair to be honest - letting any of them go "on the cheap" probably won't happen at this point, whether it would make tons of sense as a change of scenery attempt or not.

Tough to disagree with the idea that swapping those types of formerly highly thought of prospect types would seem to make some sense though.

Yeah ...they get two chances for one. None of them really have much of a chance, but better to take a chance on a hitter that we need in our system opposed to holding onto pitchers that are just blocking other guys with more talent.

To me that's a no brainer on both sides...Texas needs pitching.
