How close is he to being fired? Nats lost again today. They are 4.5 out of first, and only on pace to win 85.

Don't see it happening.

How hilarious would it be for their higher-ups to have to admit that they made a huge mistake when they didn't bring Dusty back?

Like all old-school guys, he's got his warts - but they sure wouldn't have had to be concerned about potentially missing the playoffs.

I think you’re overstating the general effects of a manager on team performance—but especially Dusty Baker’s.

Wait...

If Baker were managing the Nats wouldn't have had injuries, Harper would be hitting better, and they would be leading the NL East?

They are in no way out of contention for anything right now. Nobody deserves to be canned at this point in time. All the injuries are out of the managers control.

You did read the "funny" part of that post, no?

Anything that even hints at not being numbers-driven really gets under everybody's skin these days I see, even jokes.

Lighten up folks, I'm sure someone can come up with an algorithm that will prove that teams managed by Baker and Bobby didn't really make the playoffs.

constant dumb is constant

Managers get too much blame, players underperform and managers, other people get the blame.

Even still, there's way too many games to count them out.
