I've never lived around one. But my all my siblings were born in Georgia and my brother went to school in Greensboro NC and I think he may have worked at the Piggly Wiggly there? I don't really remember. The name has stuck with me forever.

Interestingly, the 2 closest retail/grocery stores to my rural house are piggly wiggly and DG, so yeah, I'm a DG guy haha

Dont make fun of Piggly Wiggly. They were/are a carpetbagger effort. Founded and run by a Rockefeller family for decades.

J/K about the founders but one of the Rockefellers did own a bunch of them here in NC for many years til they moved on.
Same for my parents house. A DG literally 1 mile down the road and the Pig about 6 miles down the road. It's a 20 min drive for them to any town with at least 15k people.
