Do you bench Acuña for game 2?

After his antics tonight something should be done with him. During the regular season you can bench him as the game means less. In the playoffs, everything is magnified and second chances are rarely available.

That being said, does Snitker bench Acuña for game 2 to send him the message....again?

No lol..He still was the best player on the field even with the gaffe. It was awful and he needs to be scalded for not hustling but this is in a way what the Braves want as it takes the spotlight off how bad the bullpen was tonight and more importantly Snitker was.

The message was already sent and apparently not received. Doing it again and again just waters down the effect further.

So the choices are to either increase the penalty, i.e. bench him for the entire series (not smart if you‘re trying to win), or use the offseason to work on the underlying issues with Acuna, whatever these may be.

lol there are no underlying issues. he's a kid. he had an absolutely fantastic game. easily the best player on the field.

Bench the best player in the series down 0-1? Are these people trolling? Now probably isn't the time to "send a message".

Of course there is some root cause, as there is with all human behavior. Doesn‘t mean it‘s something bad or that this calls his character into question, but obviously sanctioning him did not change his behavior.

Snit would be shot after the game if he does this. A kid, a freaking kid barely of age to drink made a mistake and you do this? I would beat Snit myself I was down there for this move.

He won't though. Ronald got a chew out from not only the coach, coaches but his teammates and his best friend, he won't do this again.

That is the best punishment you can give him. Too much on the line and with him and Freeman hitting it bold well for us to continue it.

Holy hell guys...

Acuna is a 21 year old HoF talent who's biggest concern is "hustle", and it isn't even a problem with playing hard.

He thought he hit a HR and was caught being a spectator. It's not like he was jogging after a ball to the wall in the gap out of indifference, or lazily tossing a ball back to the infield.

Yes, it was a bonehead play. Yes, it has to be addressed by team leaders. Yes, it has to stop.

But come on...stop being idiots about this. Peer pressure is a hell of a motivator, and I have no doubt it will apply here.

If Albies is on his ass and he is his best friend, you are correct. Albies bust his ass and he expects his best friend to do the same and he didn't, so he got busted.
