Equal pay for Equal Work

Another of the dictates Obama made during the SOTU.

Where do you stand? Pro-Con

Why?

If you support the notion -- do you vote for people that will make it real?

If not - does it weigh heavily in your decision?

Really this is a simple one, it's already the law as far as discrimination goes just a matter of enforcing it and I think it's absolutely the case. That said statistically speaking saying that women don't make as much as men and pointing at stats is flawed because circumstances can create problems in that and discrimination needs to be handled case by case, not blanket, because some women want to work part time and raise a family, and they should be allowed ot and other women shouldn't be compensated more because of it.

It depends on what you mean by equal work.

I certainly don't believe someone should be payed less for the exact same job strictly because of the color of their skin/gender/sexual preference, but for a few exceptions.

I also am concerned that young single women generally make more money than young single men.
