Eric Garner doesn't get justice

unarmed and choked to death on camera and was ruled a homicide

but no indictment for the cop

Horrible thing that happened to that guy. He was resisting arrest verbally but since there was no physical threat the officers were in the wrong IMO.

I don't know what caused them to question him though but I'm sure more of that will come out.

Cops just doing their job.

Yes, some cops are really awful at their jobs. Staten Island cops are known to be bad because they are typically Italian Greezeballs who are just flexing the size of their balls.

He was selling loosies

Yeah, I heard that on the video. If he was selling them to underage kids he is a scumbag but still didn't deserve the excessive force that he got. Officers have to wait until they are being assaulted before getting to the level that they were using.

Well there was what, 3-4 officers. Even if he swung at them, there's no need to choke someone.

Nope, ruled a homicide because the argument could be made this was a homicide.

As you can see from the responses already there is no need to look at the color of the victim. Just the merits of the case tell you everything you need to know.

You didn't read the NYPost article then. Where the Police Union called the ME report a "political witch hunt"

Thats outrageous then. This was about as clear of an example of excessive force as it gets.

Posted some of this in the Ferguson thread, but I'll repost some of my thoughts here. First off let's make this clear that this case is 100% different than what happened in Ferguson.

I disagree with the grand jury in this case, and I believe the officer should have been indicted. All my law enforcement training tells me that the amount of force used was both unnecessary and excessive. Just way too many officers present and the level of resistance they encountered from Eric Garner was not high at all.

I agree, this officer should have been indicted.

Hopefully, people will understand that resisting arrest benefits no one, it's doesn't make sense; you aren't going to win. Its a shame bc it led to an overzealous cop.
