Explosion in NY Port Authority

I agree that most terrorist attacks in recent decades have been by Muslims. The disagreements I have with you have to do with the inferences drawn from that.

I understand it's a bad policy to restrict all Muslims. I get that it will never happen and probably for a good teason. But, we should be able to tall about the obvious.

By the way there was a time when most of the terrorist attacks in the UK were perpetrated by Irish Catholics.

I'm sure there were some politicians at the time in the UK who made some hay out of that fact. But in retrospect it is a good thing that there were no special measures (or perhaps there were but I'm not aware of them) that identified Irish Catholics as a class to be dealt with differently.

Again, this is a much larger issue with global ramifications so while there are similarities I don't think the results of that event should dictate how we handle this even bigger problem in the future

Not that my memory is great, but wasn't the rationale regarding the list based on intelligence that the CIA or military had about the nations listed? If that was the case, it seems that such a ban will or should be always changing and never really successful...

I think the basis is how much the countries on the list were willing to work with us on vetting people who wanted to come here. By the way Chad has been working with us against Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. It really is beyond my comprehension why we would put them on the list. My understanding is they have pulled back on some of that cooperation since we put them on the list.

I'll keep beating this drum but until we are able to freely talk about the elephant in the room this problem is going to get worse in the future.

We were lucky this bomb maker wasn't good at it making bombs. Could have been a tragedy. The scary thing is there is little we can do about this under our current strategies.

friend up there that uses that area for transit for work was mostly pissed how much this disrupted her commute today up there and was thankful that NYC doesn't give a **** what some terrorist thinks and everything was back to normal at 4pm

I *heart* NYC

Remember when we were told terrorism is not an issue in the US? That we do a better at assimilation Muslim youth. Yeag...this is not going to get better. Wake up everyone. We all want to make sure our family, friends and fellow Americans are safe.

Awwwww....the scums family is upset about the interrogation. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Leave.
