Expects Yuge Games
We are not quite at the half-way mark of the season, and Freddie Freeman has accumulated 13 home runs and a total of 33 extra base hits. He is on pace to exceed his career highs for home runs (23) and extra base hits (65). In terms of value, he has generated 2 WAR so far. His underlying value seems to be fairly stable at about 4 WAR per season. You can construct a .500 team with a lineup and starting rotation of 2 WAR players. To go beyond .500 baseball, you need a handful of players that can give you more than that. We currently have 3 who have shown they can do that and are likely to be able to continue doing so--Freeman, Teheran and Inciarte. Fredito is the best of the three.

Those are not easy feats in this lineup. I figured he would actually be down across the board just because he doesn't have anyone to make teams pitch to him.

It's not like teams are feeding him fastballs. But teams are pitching to him because there is generally nobody on base in front of him. 13 homers but only 28 rbi compared to 36 runs.
