Performed by the head medical doctor for the Mets lol. They cleaned out 3 bone spurs and is expected to be ready for spring training.

sucks that all of the injuries piled up at playoff time. i guess the SP was healthy, which is a lot to ask for.
explain Freddie's abysmal performance tho. wonder if, i don't know, anybody else would've been more effective.

I've suffered from bone spurs in the past and laughed every time he (or the dumb ass beat writers) said it didn't affect him. It for sure does, if anything, from a mental standpoint.

I know ball players are highly competitive, but if your injury will likely require surgery and it significantly impacts your ability to perform at a high level, you need to put yourself on the bench. Your not helping the team by trying to play through it and playing like crap.

i'm sure it also affected his defense

it even affected his ability to push himself back off the ground

i remember toward the end of the season he dove back to first after a pickoff play...and he winced in pain trying to push himself back up...after that he didn't take a lead because he didn't want to dive again

I don't think there's an issue with Freddie playing in the playoffs, we love the guy! But, there's no way in hell he should have played the last few games of the season. He may not have made it worse but there's literally no way that resting it would have hurt.

Not enough credit is given to the Cards for their pitch sequences against Freddie, especially when they put in their lefties against him.

They kept giving him trash breaking balls and he still kept swinging at it. He wasn't having that much trouble swinging at fastballs.

Freeman is just trash against lefties

So disappointed in the way this played out. Hopefully he will be ready for the season and work toward putting his abysmal playoff performance behind him.
