GDT: 07/22/2014 Marlins (Turner) @ Braves (Minor)

And of course the butt fckn Nationals are taking care of business...Tied it right back up vs the Chokies

I am going to share with you all a funny little story that I thought was cute when I was told this.

On the field when I had the pleasure of meeting David Ross this year, I got to chat with him a bit and share a few things. I of course told him that we all miss him around here and how happy I was about his success in Boston. I then mentioned that we sure do wish that he was still here and his reply was "Ha ha thanks man, but I had to come up to Boston to win a World Series." We laughed it off and he sent me away with an autograph baseball, but deep down I was thinking, "Damn you are right".

Yeah. ****ing hilarious.

Listening to Fredi's postgame comments, it might be a small step before Hale takes Minor's place in the rotation. Praised bullpen to the heavens, said he was a little concerned about Minor's lack of command of all of his pitches.

Only about 30 percentage points separates Freddie and Heyward's batting averages.

At this rate with one trending up and one going down I wouldn't be surprised if they're tied by Aug 1st.

Also crazy to think about that possibility 2 months ago when Freddie was around .320 and Heyward under .200

Heyward is the key to this offense. I don't know what happened to his power after he got hit in the face. But, if he can get it back, our offense would immediately go from **** to respectability.

so, the dickhole surgery took Mike Minors ability to pitch well away this year obviously

I was thinking that it was only a matter of time before people started accusing Freddie of counting his money, but then he took on the tarp and the front row in the ninth inning last night and reminded me again that he is a true gamer who's just slumping right now. Sucks for us, but his defense remains top shelf.

It was a bad jump...

But my thing is...just be patient!! No reason to go on the very 1st pitch...You dont think the Marlins know that he is 15/16 in stolen bases this year? Hell, he stole one last night!! Just be a little patient and get a better pitch to run on if you are going to do that...Ceshek hardly ever throws straight fastballs and he threw a texas league 4 seamer right down the pipe because he knew he was going...he should have just pitched out! Goodness

Great point!!

Freddie has got to do something, man....We are jack sh*t when he doesnt hit

Freddie is having some horrible at bats. I forget which one it was, but he was 3-1, and then hit a ground ball off a pitch a couple of inches above the ground. Now, if I'm a serious hitter, than pitch doesn't even warrant a look at 3-1. I feel like, either, they are not listening at all to the hitching coaches, or the players run the show when it comes to a hitting plan. Braves can't bunt, they can't hit and run, they can't sacrifice on a consistent basis, and they can't even touch the ball when they just need to put it in play. They have a team wide horrible approach at the plate...except for LaStella.

Heyward is the key.

Freddie is the key.

Justin is the key.

2 of 3 these guys are showing up. Can't say so for the one getting paid millions more than the other two combined.

At least Freddie has shown up for a large part of the season, something Heyward can only dream of.

That pissed me off. I was like, you know better than that.
