GDT 10/12/22: Braves vs Philthies - NLDS Game 2

Contreras and ozuna have both been really good since sept...

Ozuna: .321/.368/.585 164 wrc+
Contreras: .301/.384/.466 137 wrc+

Perhaps the problem isn't ozuna over Contreras as much as Rosario over ozuna

Snit man…

Ozuna should have been in yesterday’s lineup

I can understand playing Ozuna vs a RHP. But if you’re going to do that, he should be taking Rosario’s spot. Rosario can’t hit or field. At least Ozuna has a chance to hit.

This is the way. Hell, Ozuna's defense IS worse but not by much. Baseball Reference has Ozuna's dWAR at -1.4 while Rosario's is at -1.3.

Rob Thomson said the consensus is they will not start Game 2 unless they believe they can finish it without interruption.

They have pulled the tarp enough to line the field. Looks like the Braves and Phillies plan to play today at some point.

If we play today, there will be a day off tomorrow. I would get wright early unless he's dominating. Mchugh, minter, iglesias, lee, and jansen should be able to cover an inning, so 4 innings is all we got to have, but 5 would be great to take lee out the equation

I don't like the thought of another day of rest for wheeler and rust for wright. Can't shake the feeling all the good fortune we got last season is being billed to us this time

Feels like it would be surprising if they elect to play this game. Albeit think both teams are probably aligned wanting to get it in vs. 4 games in a row starting tomorrow - so don't think this will be a case of one team strongly wanting a different approach than the other. Neither team gets an extra start out of any pitcher if the game moves.

I suppose Philly probably would prefer to ensure their ace has no risk of rain interfering with his start.

They can wait all they want tonight, with tomorrow being an off day anyway, they could easily move their flights to tomorrow

It won’t be surprising at all if they get the game in. After the initial push of rain there should easily be a window for an entire game to start in the 7-9pm time frame. There’s really no reason not to wait it out

I’m predicting a start time in the 7:30-8:30 time frame depending on how quickly they can get the field ready. Good news is the tarp was on before the rain started and it’s more moderate rain rather than super heavy
