So no swag 5000 aka Carmargo and Third Catcher.
I like it.
Although I hope we don’t see Wilson this series.

Ynoa wasn't on the WC roster, was he?

Agree that Camargo will be elsewhere next year. I never thought he was the long-term answer at 3B, but I never thought he'd completely fall off a cliff either.

Potential for 5 straight games with no days off. Also, close playoff games tend to chew through pens and the Braves only seem to play close playoff games.

Agree. Even with solid performances you are talking about a lot of bullpen innings. Some of these guys haven't pitched back to back all year.

I think we are looking at 20+ innings from the bullpen if we go 5 games.

Not to mention, when are we going to use the position guys?
Panda if Riley gets hurt. Maybe a pinch hit.
Pache for defensive replacement and/or pinch runner.
Culberson pinch runner early in the game.
Flowers. Back up catcher, if catcher is pinch run for, etc. Will likely start one of 5 games.

I don't know what role the others guys would play. If we had a really good left handed bat for Riley that would be one thing, but we don't. We have Panda who was cut weeks ago. If we had someone to pinch hit for Neck if a lefty is brought in, but we don't. We have Pache who may not be ready to hit.

This team is essentially a starting lineup with the only decision being if you would DH TDA if you need to get him a break catching. So more pitchers makes sense.

Ynoa and Wilson were on on the roster. Comargo and Contreras were.

Since we have the potential for 5 games (with 3 starting pitchers) in 5 days vs 3 in 3 days they went with more pitching.

Comargo is sad. But he looks like the Chris Johnson-ed us. He balled out one year and then right back to his baseline. Thank God this GM didn't give comargo a crazy extension. I hope Comargo can find a role elsewhere. In a game cutting payroll he may be an attractive option to someone on a one year deal to see if he re-captures the one year magic. If that someone isn't really trying to win and is just trying to collect checks and assets until the labor situation is resloved.

Yeah. We have Camargo and Contreras available if someone gets hurt. Not that big of a deal. We will need the pitchers I'm afraid.

Starling Marte isn't on the Marlins' NLDS roster

Big news. Not unexpected but big news.

I think they were considering adding a stud pitching prospect who has not pitched in MLB yet. Wonder if he made it? I don't even know the guy's name but it was said he was a top 100 guy.

Braxton Garrett? He was picked a few spots behind Ian Anderson in 2016 draft. But he's pitched in 2 games already

Same. He seemed to be a good option as a cheap utility guy that could be used to counter a tough LHP in high leverage spots.

Now he's been replaced by whoever ate Pablo Sandoval.

Marlins counter with:

Berti 2B
Aguilar DH
Cooper 1B
Anderson 3B
Rojas SS
Dickerson LF
Brinson RF
Wallach C
Sierra CF

Alcantara P

Nobody really scares you in the Marlins lineup. They have some fine players, but there isn’t that guy you can circle and say we can’t let him beat us. Berti can be a pest on the base paths though. Just ask the Mets.
