GDT 4/22/22: Braves vs Marlins - Friday Fish Fry

Holy hell, the OF for the defending champions consists of a back up SS, a 5th OFer, and a AAAA player.

Acuna can't get back soon enough.

I'd be pretty surprised if Duvall was completely healthy. I get that everyone needs off days, but Snit clearly hates it. And to give him an off day against a lefty with a righty on the mound tomorrow? Something doesn't add up -- of course, that something could just be Snit.

Maybe with the off day he’s just trying to give him 2 days in a row off?

Then he should've gotten the day off on Wednesday against a righty. Giving up chances for Duvall to be in the lineup against left-handed pitching seems like a huge waste -- if he's healthy.

Riley and TDA weren’t in the lineup Wednesday. Maybe Snit felt like he couldn’t take Duvall out. I guess he could have gone with the Bobby Sunday Special though.

At this rate they are going to shorten Acuna's rehab stint because our OF is garbage

Acuna with crutches is better than every other OFer on the roster.

AA did a shockingly poor job building the OF this year, and I’m not sure why. It’s almost like he forgot he was able to acquire Duvall and Rosario for free, then made it a priority to bring them back.

You're not wrong. But the problem is, as I believe was pointed out on this board recently, the majority of the alternatives that were out there for him to sign are doing equally as poor as the guys we kept.
