Will update when Lineups are released. MMMMMMMMMMMM. Opening Day. Should be like a National Holiday. I still have never been a fan of playing Game 1 then having the day off. That second day with no game is always torture. I still don't know what the hell MLB was thinking making our first home game at the new park two weeks into the season. The last few years anyone that opened a new stadium opened up on Sunday Opening Night (Schafer helped us burn the Nats on their christening of Nationals Park, Marlins got beat up in their new stadium) but I guess the Johns requested we get an extra 2 weeks to prepare for the Padres.

My side opening day story: 2002 when we had Sheffield and Castilla ready to go, I had my brother pick me up from school early. Was in 6th grade and had been anticipating that series for god knows how long. That was the dream lineup:
Furcal
Giles
C.Jones
Sheffield
A.Jones
Castilla
Lopez
Surhoff/Julio
Still remember that game was on TBS + ESPN. Would change the channel back and forth to see which feed was behind. Remember Vinicio pulling an inside fastball for a homer that barely made it past the fence and inside the flagpole. Then Sheffield destroyed a 3-run homer later on in the game.
That was also the offseason the Mutts loaded up and traded for everyone. Alomar, Vaughn, Burnitz, D'Amico. Then Suspenders countered by acquiring Sheff and the gauntlet was thrown down. Boy did they not live up to the hype. Thought for sure we'd be battling with them all year for the division. Didn't think our biggest challenge in the East would be the Expos.
2003: Same thing, asked my brother to pick me up early so I can make it on time. Boy did that opening day suck. I think we got killed by the Fish or Expos.
2010: Called in sick from restaurant to see Heyward welcomed to the show.
Since then, if we've had an opening day in the afternoon slot I've made sure I don't have any clients booked for the few hours so I can watch in isolation in my room and chat with people here I don't know in real life.
