GDT: 5/12/17 Braves vs Fish

Still an ERA over 4 and an average WHIP at best. Long ways to go for this guy. Strikeouts per 9 are down and he's still allowing a homerun plus per nine innings.

His era is actually 3.7 if you just consider his starts. Why he was brought in for relief that one game is beyond me.

Maybe he's turned a corner. Get back to me in July. By then we will have more data and a longer period of time to evaluate him. Although early returns seem to be suggesting he may have begun to figure things out.

Biggest change with Folty is that he now has a good 3rd pitch, the changeup.

I'm gonna give Folty the benefit of the doubt. He's been good absent that one tooling by STL. There have been half a dozen times when I've thought "ok, here comes the implosion," but he's pitched out of it. He's an unmitigated bright spot, IMO.
