Given the pitching matchups, i'd be fine with a split. And the way they've been playing as of late.
Looks like we’re showcasing Wright to them so when Monday comes the trade for Scherzer and Soto goes through after their season is ended on sunday.

So I'm assuming the corresponding move to call up Inciarte was sending Riley down? Nothing posted here.

The MLBTR article has a false narrative. Since when is Matt Adams still a Braves.
Since the Braves opted to demote a pitcher rather than a position player for Inciarte, Atlanta will go with a five-man bench that consists of four outfield options — Inciarte, Matt Adams, and utilitymen Charlie Culberson and Johan Camargo. MLBTR’s Jeff Todd recently explored the Braves’ rather crowded bench situation, tossing around ideas like demoting Riley to get him straightened out at the plate to designating for assignment (or trading) one of Culberson, Adams, or even Inciarte. The latter would be the costliest and thus probably the least likely idea, as Inciarte is still owed over $16.4MM through the 2021 season.

and an extra position player (Riley) since we only have 4 starters on the roster (Teheran, Soroka, Keuchel, Wright)
on Sunday I'm guessing Gausman gets activated with Wright sent down
then we have an odd stretch of the schedule with days off sandwiching a 2-game series with the royals...we can get by with four starters until the July 30 game against the gnats
It's crazy how good AA is at playing the shuttle game.
I don't recall JS or even Wren being so great at managing the small things like this. Then again, we've never had this much depth all-around on the 40 man to work the shuttle. JS was always worried about putting the best 25 man, not accounting for injuries (see trading Betemit for Baez and Aybar), while it seems AA is consciously constructing the best 40 man roster he can. It's a real strength to have someone as good as Ender go down and be able to call a Riley up and produce as much as he did, and now it's the other way around with Riley slotting back down and Ender coming back up.
If Gausman,Ender,Folty get back to their normal selves it's like we made 3 big trades mid-season since neither of the 3 have meaningfully contributed to our season so far.

going from the 15 day to the 10 day IL makes it a lot easier
we have good depth especially on the pitching side...might as well exploit it

Yep, dont need a 5th starter next week. Fried should be back the following week, then a roster move would need to be made then. I guess send down Blevins and go with 5-man bench/7 man pen.
But i'm not sure the point of such a deep bench would be if we wont even use them, so.
