Rest?
Rest!?
Where we are going we don’t need rest!
Doc Brown came back and said Ozzie has a Yuge day.

Looks like Riley is the RHH platoon bat in the OF for the near future.

Do we agree with that usage of a young slugger with clear holes in his game that need to be ironed out?

Better players than Riley have been sent down for a AAA refresher course and I would suggest that wouldn't be a bad idea. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Braves shop for a RHH OF at the deadline.

"The Braves want to give players – even Freddie Freeman – more rest in 2019. Rather than just relying on Culberson, Camargo gives them another with the same profile. It’ll help them withstand injuries over the lengthy season and gives them reliable plug-and-play options if someone is slumping and needs a break."

Markakis signs...

"The Braves will look to cut back on Markakis' playing time after he tailed off badly in the second half of the season. He was batting .323 with 10 homers and 61 RBIs at the All-Star break, but hit just .258 with four homers and 32 RBIs over the final 68 games."

Hmmmmmm...

Agreed, but who's better than Duvall and his AAA OPS of 1.100 vs LHP and above average defense? Pence, if he can play any defense at all?

What data is telling the FO Duvall suddenly can't hack it as a bench piece?

I would have mentioned Duvall and I can't figure out why he is still laboring in AAA. It's puzzling that they acquired him last season and used him, but went with Joyce out of spring training and are content to let Duvall stay in Gwinnett. If there's ever a time that recalling him should be considered, it's now.

Wouldn't this be a decent series to give every regular a rest giving them 3 out of 4 days off before big series with the Phillies and Nationals?

You could start Camargo for Albies and Swanson once each
Start Joyce for Markakis and Acuna once each
Start McCann/Flowers once each
You could even start Culberson for Freeman and Donaldson once each
I didn't place Riley because he already seems to be in a platoon right now with Inciarte, but you could start them once each.

.

Apparently they just had a day off so more rest isnt needed. I mean why have faith in your bench guys when you can just run the same lineup out there every game. Plus thinking is what snit does really good.
