Approaching Buddy Hernandez Territory
You guys can make this the official gamethread later, but just wanted to get this out there. No joke, but BJ Upton is leading off tonight, LaStella, hits 2nd, and Gattis is DH'ing with Laird catching

Braves lineup:
1. BJ Upton CF
2. LaStella 2B
3. Freeman 1B
4. Gattis DH
5. Heyward RF
6. Justin Upton LF
7. Johnson 3B
8. Simmons SS
9. Laird C
Harang RHP

Astros Lineup:
1. Fowler CF
2. Altuve 2B
3. Springer RF
4. Singleton 1B
5. Dominguez 3B
6. Castro C
7. Carter DH
8. Grossman LF
9. Villar SS
Feldman RHP

Why is Laird catching. It would make more sense to have him catch game 3, with Gattis DHing.

BJ is an AL player, should work to perfection.

Or at least he isn't an NL player. Guess we can't be certain anymore.

I'm beginning to think Fredi is a Manchurian candidate sent by the Nationals to destroy our team from within. That's the only logical explanation. :icon_biggrin:

It's also pretty sad that Fredi thinks not batting 3 lefties consecutively trumps all other lineup construction logic. And to make it worse, BJ is the answer that he comes up with.

So Frank says "lower in the order." I mean, one is lower than two, amirite?

If anybody watched inception, this is "fredi's last insult" to BJ.

If BJ can't cut it at all leading off he's cut from the lineup. I think this is what laird referred to when he said Fredi was managing egos.

What. How. Why. I don't get it. I truly don't. Maybe he's just trying to get BJ going, but at what, the expense of a win? What an idiot in every single definition of the word.

There's no secret that the Astros are a much better team this year and that they're loaded up with talent. There's also no secret that the Braves have played like crap for a while and need to right the ship. Let's hope that they can begin it with the Astros tonight!

Let's confront the elephant in the room... BJ Upton leading off. I don't know how to feel about it. Typically, a guy like Upton would be a perfect leadoff the guy... but BJ can't get on base and swings for the fences. Let's hope he can find a momentum here and get going. The rest of the players are in a good spot with him leading off. Maybe we'll get lucky?

Also, I love playing with the DH when we have a guy like Gattis. Laird isn't the best, but he's much better defensively than Gattis. I expect to see a few bombs from El Oso on this trip, let's hope they can propel us to a win.

Something needs to be done. It's getting out of control. Heyward has got be like wtf?! Seriously! Someone needs to simply ask freddi to justify moving bj up while moving Heyward down, guarantee nothing remotely intelligent would come out of his mouth.

Lmmfao!!!! What is this sht show of a lineup. BJ gets rewarded for being an abortion ? Good god!!

A guy like upton typically a perfect leadoff guy...why? Simply cause he is fast? A leadoff guy gets on base. That skill trumps any other by far. Usain Bolt is fast but can't hit a baseball, bj seems to have the same problem. Speed is just a nice bonus for a leadoff hitter...we'll as long as we're not talking Adam Dunn speed leading off lol
