GDT 8/15/24: Braves @ Giants - Feeling Sweepy for the early game

How long are we going to keep running Chavez out there only to watch the opposition light him up?

PS This one's over...thanks Jesse, you washed up @#$%

the only way for Jesse not to be used by twit in the 5th inning with men on is to cut him from the team. Twit doesn't understand leverage and using guys when the situation calls for it.

this game is probably still 2-0 if he went JJ/prince albert/bummer in the 5th.. then Lee for some bulk innings. But roles.. ya know.

lol.. he let Jessie cover 1.1 innings and is now using Bummer when it literally doesn't matter. God I can't wait for twit to be gone.

Twit punted this game, pure and simple. I guess he subscribed to the Meat Loaf philosophy of "Three Out of Four Ain't Bad."

Chavez has an era under 3 and we scored zero runs. We weren't winning this game if we had prime Venters pitching in his place.

Soler back this weekend apparently…..

3/4 in California is something we should be pretty dang happy with. Even if it’s Oakland. I’m sure you guys remember that ….

9 runs given up by Chavez in his last 10 appearances

Before the All-Star game, O'Brien wrote an article about Braves' players lobbying for Chavez to be named to the All-Star team. I understand the home cooking, but man-o-Manischewitz, he is what he is. He's obviously been a contributor and helped mightily during the WS run in 2021, but he must be something in the clubhouse to generate the kind of support that he has.

probably more he was having a goodish first half (propped up by some luck) but due to his age more of a farewell nod for him.
