You see a guy that's hit well for 1 month, and you think "being hot" is predictive.

I see a guy who hasn't had an OBP much over .320 in half a decade, and see a bottom of the order hitter.

To each their own I suppose.

When the question is, "who's hot?" figuring out who's been hot is, in fact, predictive.

Seriously, though, dude. It might be time to refill that lithium Rx. I can tell when you ran out. You're out of control.

By the time you stick the "hot" guy into the 2 hole you have no idea when he is going to go "cold" again. Then you will leave the "cold" guy in the 2 hole for a week or so.

It's the same phenomenon as trying to time the stock market. Just like a buy and hold strategy in the stock market, you are better off leaving guys in the lineup position their true talent level dictates.

Aybar is a .300-.320 OBP talent and doesn't belong anywhere near the top of the order. I'm sure you guys will argue until your finger are sore that hot streaks are predictive though, so I shouldn't have wrote anything haha.
