GDT 9/18/24: Braves @ Reds - Winning Streak Starts Tonight

Looks like the Royals will be fighting tooth and nail for a wild card spot during the final weekend, while the Brewers and Padres rest their players. Lmao.
 
Feels like the Braves are going to need to win just about every game remaining. Phillies need to beat the Mets twice to go ahead and lock up the division so hopefully they show up this weekend, but then they'll slack off once it's clinched. Milwaukee has already clinched so I don't have high hopes that they will do us any favors against Arizona. If we lose this game today with Chris Sale on the mound, that's probably the season.

Brewers are 2 games back from bye
 
Brewers will take 2/3 at least from Arizona.

Phillies should handle Mets enough to get us back tied for first…..

Gotta admit, I like it better when we already have the division flag in hand at this point- but being in a crazy chase like this is kinda’ fun…
 
Phillies wanna clinch and luckily for us they will be playing the Mets. Albies will have a bigger impact than just his bat in the lineup. His presence is a spark plug so i expect these last 10 games should be exciting. Hopefully Lopez is back by the Mets series and we can line up Sale, Lopez, and Fried. Sale and Fried have to both pitch in that series for sure.

And treat ‘em like WS games - maybe even use an opener, use Iggy in the sixth if in a jam, etc ….

We really need to be 1 game back or tied going into that series. I dont expect a sweep for either team so we really need to sweep this Nats series i just dont have much confidence they can. If we are 1 game out or tied then AA needs to step in and basically manage the series himself. I dont trust Snit to manage that series bc hes the kind if we are 2 runs down he packs it in and brings in Chavez or Jackson.

lol.. there is no place in twit's head that he would consider using the highest leverage reliever in the 6th inning. Lee/Bummer/Prince Albert is the best you would get. and that is a stretch.

Looks like SS and Sale doesn't 2 games vs Mets. Morton technically lined up for game 3 but Fried could move up. If not then it's Fried-Holmes-SS to end the season vs KC. I don't know if Fries would be more likely to move up if we lost the first two or if we won the first two. If we win the first two how could we not go for the knockout blow with Fried.
